and what they expect me to be,
there is a giant gap.
only,
I will not allow the gap to define me,
I will not be reduced by this outward expectation.
far beyond
who they think I am,
and what they expect me to be,
there is me,
the complexity, the experiences, the love,
the hate, the fear, the causes and consequences,
the discovery, the thoughts, the feelings.
always in transition,
never stagnant.far beyond
who I think I am,
and what I consider myself to be,
there is
the real, almost inaccessible,
the deepest and most inner
me.
the real
myster-y.
in that gap,
I wish and I will live.
for the journey between me and myself
is worth and valuable.
but, the journey of others,
and their projections, and words, and concepts,
and rules, and judgments, and visions,
will be the road
not taken.
skating around the truth who I am
the ice is getting thin
will you ever learn?
you're just an empty cage, girl
if you kill the bird.
